On saving trees:
Most paper is made from trees grown specifically for the production of paper -- like we grow potatoes for french-fries. No one is complaining about endangered potatoes. Recycling does not save trees. We have three times more trees then we did in 1920. |

Q: What is the historical reason for the linguistic similarity between the words "mother" and "the sea" in many European languages?

Since most european languages come from Latin, let's look at the words for mother: mater, and sea: mare. Those are pretty similar. Just a guess. |
