Nah, I think Netphoria's just recieved a new generation of users and that more than a few of the original and older users are jealous of the fact that there are new and more people broaching on something they once felt was distinctly their own. It's always been like that.

people, we have to recycle the funny!!! let's take ideas out of old funny threads (like the "what if netphoria was the movie industry" thread) and make new and totally different threads of them (e.g.: "what if netphoria was the music industry"). in this way we can still provide the necessary funny for our lives and don't have to fear that we ever run out of it again.
