That's easy - find the tool with your number, then look for the same tool appearing under different numbers. The only important part of the number is the first digit. 22-2-2=18. If you change the second digit, you're only going to end up taking it away again anyway. 21-2-1=18. 24-2-4=18. So what you're basically doing is picking a multiple of 10, and taking the first digit away - any number you add to this multiple ends up disappearing when you subtract it. So all they need to do is have the same tool for 20-2 (18), 30-3(27)...etc And everytime the page refreshes, the tools get mixed around - but these numbers all share the same picture.

if you look closely, you will see, that every number where the 2 digits added together are 9 have the same image (apart from 90, but you can't reach that number if you start from a 2 digit one). and this is the image that will show up. Because a two digit number minus the value of each of it's digits always leads to a number whose digits eqal 9...but i don't know why is that.

(x*10+y)-x-y=z
abs(z/10)+(z/10-abs(z/10))*10=9

now i still don't know why it is 9, but i'm sure there's a reason for this
