No problem. I wasn't trying to be a jerk, but yeah I've seen this movie mentioned a lot.
My best friend LOVES IT (she found it for 5 bucks once and bought it) and she played it for me but I was distracted or something I have no idea but ended up not watching it.
She claims its great though.

Fuck. I can only not reply so many times. Before someone brings it up, it's not a movie about a bunch of pretentious "what's the meaning of life?" crap that's supposed to be COOL. It's about the different kinds of PEOPLE who hold certain philosophies. At least it's a lot more multi-dimensional than a lot of people seemed to perceive it as. A lot of people seemed to hate it simply because it's an indie-caliber film that's made it semi-mainstream, and also on the basis of the ideas being tossed around in it. If you pay attention you can see that the film doesn't sell these pseudo-intellectual dialogues as something new or unique or anything even remotely close to being the point of the film. People are so used to film makers attempting to satisfactorily blow their minds that when that isn't the end goal, they're lost as to what basis to judge the movie on. As far as I could see it was more about the types of philosophies people hold and the reasoning and characteristics behind it. Coming away from it saying, "Well I didn't see anything new or original in it. That didn't really do anything for me," might suggest that you've seen Fight Club one too many times to even be in that kind of mindset in the first place. The nuances of the film, the subtleties, the characters, and richness with which these things are put together are what makes it worth watching, not any sort of crappy attempt at life-affirming pieces of knowledge.

Sorry. I just had to get that off my chest. Lynch away.

True, while watching it you can be easily distracted, and the charaters seem to ramble a bit at times, but if you stick it through and comprehend it turns out to be really great.

I'm sorry. I hate Richard Linklater and I want to hang him from a tree. When I watch a movie, I don't want to have different philosophies thrown at me, that's what Don DeLillo is for.

Sure, everything he's done since then has been pretty shit, but give him some credit.
I HATE DAZED & CONFUSED. HATE HATE HATE HATE. It's such a faggy seventies nostalgia film. I fucking loathe it.

i like waking life alot like it's really interesting watching all the people with different opionins and stuff it's kinda like lurking at a coffee house which i like to do also, it's just some of it makes you laugh, some of it's silly, some of it is out there and some of it makes you think, i can totally see why you guys that hate it hate it though... i dunno i am really interseted in stuff like that... plus the animation was just amazing i loved it so much i just got lost in it, and also thinking about how much work must have gone into painting every frame i mean wow... i also liked how they used lots of different artests so it was constantly changeing and evloving, going from simple to complex, bright colours to dull, yet they did it so it seemed like it flowed so seemlessly... i was very impressed by the whole thing...

oh course i also sit random places like malls and parks listening to peoples conversations, and i like to sit and watch things like water and clouds and ant trails... i'm just very easily amused so it's not saying too much that i found it stimulating...

Well I bought Amelie the same day for 5 bucks also. Does that mean Amelie sucks?
No, it just means Blockbuster was having a sale and getting rid of extra previously viewed copies.
