It's just bad because it causes whatever is after it to be affected by the tag. It's like storing blue cheese without wrapping it properly. The cheese will be fine, but the spores will spread to everything else in the fridge.

If someone is CHOOSING to use a font colour, it should be their responsibility to close it, and stop others from using it. It's just common courtesy. No one is forcing them to use the font colour. They're forcing others to use it.

i know i used to leave mine open in ubb so it'd show up in my sig. but now you can use html in your sig anyway, so it doesn't really matter.

i say we turn off html for a while, that'll get all the font tag guys into the habit of using the vB code equivilent, which cannot be left open. i know i got so used to it in the first few hours before html was activated that i never went back.
