Default Birth Control!

Who's on it?

I just started taking Alesse a week ago, and i can already see a difference in my skin. BUT! it seems to have doubled my appetite. . . i guess thats not a HUGE problem cause my weight is fine, im underweight if anything, but it doesnt exactly make me feel good about myself to eat ALL the time.

what have your experiences with birth control been? did any of the side effects improve over time?

My best friend said hers made her gain weight but she lost it all after about 3 months of being on it. Dont get me wrong, i dont think im fat, but i hate putting on my clothes and them being way tighter than usual . . . it just feels yucky.

Different pills have different side effects on different people. The side effects usually disappear after three months.

I'm on Ortho-tricyclen. I don't think it has made any difference at all with my skin. And when I first started taking it, it made my stomach hurt...and I lost a lot of weight really quickly during the first couple of months on it (of course, now I am back at the weight I originally was).

ortho tricyclen fucked up my hormones and turned me into an emotional wreck. fuck that shit. i think i'm going to try the stuff Lie's on. Jasmine or something, right? There's no way I'm spending another 6 months fucked up like that. i hate how that stuff messes with you, but hell, it's better than getting pregnant.

I'm on nordette. I gained a few pounds when I went on it, my tummy is significantly less flat. I don't really give a shit about that, though. Other than that, I haven't really had any side effects.

Well they put me on Alesse cause its low estrogen and im really small(95lbs) and the doctor said bcp's usually only cause irregular periods when there isnt enough estrogen in the pill so maybe thats why it didnt work well for you, Hyperbole. It definatley hasnt caused any change in my mood or anything, just appetite, but im not even *sure* that its because of the pills cause my appetite is *really* crazy anyways.

Someone told me recently that Ortho-tricyclen made them have anxiety attacks . . . ugh. that would be terrible.

so far im really happy with alesse, but i *just* started so that may change.

No, that was the one I tried that didn't work. Alesse is what I'm on now. From what I've noticed, it tends to work for people who don't necessarily have problems with the physical side effects from other birth control pills, but who can't handle the higher hormone dose.

I am supposed to start on Alesse next week. I'm hoping it doesn't do too much damage. I'm hoping it's for the better!

I'm on Diane-35 and it's done wonders for my skin.

I tried alesse but didn't have as good a result.

I went psycho when I went on ortho tricyclen at first. When I got to dark blue pill week, that level of hormone triggered something in me that made me fly off the handle. It got better with time.

Then I came to college and got scatterbrained and so decided the pill was not right for me anymore and went on the patch.

You just have to start it within one week of the day you get your period. It doesn't matter what day of that week you choose to start it.

Yep. If your doctor told you to use a Sunday start, then just don't take it on the first day of your period, but you can take it on the second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, or seventh day after getting it. They just say Sunday start to avoid confusion, but you can really pick the day.

I'm on ortho-cyclen (not tri-cyclen) and I can't see any side effects personally, but this is only my second month. As long as I don't make any babies, I'm completely satisfied.

Same. Well, sorta. The first few months were a little crazy - I scared my boyfriend I'm sure.

I'm on a kind called Triquilar... its got a really low dose of hormones so it doesn't cause mood problems and stuff... no cramps... my periods vary in heavyness month to month but it doesn't matter taht much to me. I think its the best one out there... i have been on alesse and ortho-cycline and trycycline... and some really really really heavy dose hormone ones that i cant remember the name... i'd swear by this one.

Rumor has it that bittertrance is the best puller-outer in the world.
