Question Billy has something against Brian Molko from Placebo?

I have a feeling I have heard something about this, but I ran across an interview with Mat Devine (Kill Hannah).

Seeing as the Pumpkins are back together(somewhat), releasing an album and Touring this year.. Is there a possible chance that KH will tour with SP?

funny you ask. i bumped into billy 3 weeks ago as on my way to the placebo show.. and he said he'd pay me $1000 if i punched brian molko in the face for him. they aparently have some history-- well i was in the box watching the show and sent him this text "at show now. thinking about the bounty- i will choke him out and kick him in the dick if it mean we could tour with you guys" and he responded "it would help your chances to say the least"-- ha ha-- short answer, its a long shot, but we're doing everything short of murder to try to get it-- but if i have to see that tour from the audience, i will.

I spent a coupla hours with Brian Molko once, he was a pretencious, arrogant little fucker, but he had the smarts to pull off his arrogance. Sound like anybody you know? I bet the problem is Molko and Corgan are just too much alike to get along. If there is a problem at all...

i had a friend like that in high school. Half the time we hated each other, and when we got older we realized it's because we were too much alike and hated each other's negative qualities that we both shared. funny that.

Brian Molko is a fucking retard, Billy at his worst is Molko's best.

Molko tried his best to appear cool by trying to appear as a transvestite for the first five years of their career. His music is also dark and depressing without any redeeming qualities whatsoever. He is an arrogant prick.

At best their first album was good.

Brian Molko and the bass player (Stefan something) tell a few stories about Billy and SP on one (or both?) of their DVDs. None of it seemed disparaging to me.

Like someone said about the DVD, they were talking about touring with them, and they said something sarcastic to him, and he got pissed.

Kill Hannah is one of those bands where their early stuff is pretty good...nothing earthshattering but it was pretty good and then they went full on pop in a really bad way. After the chick left the band they went downhill.

I think it may be his dislike of him in the way that we all dislike Paris Hilton or Britney Spears. Kind of a "I don't like that person even though they may or may not have ever done anything to me personally."

Also, I would rue the day KH opens for SP. Can you imagine all the makeup, leather and vinyl that would attract?

it's really cliche to say this, but combined with losing Kerry Finery and getting signed to a major they just lost whatever they had. Sure they really ripped off of MBV, Garbage, and SP....but they tastefully did so and, if I remember correctly, were a pretty good live band.

i don't really see any kind of MBV influence in any of their work, but i will agree that their live show went downhill as they got more popular.

i remember travelling 4 hours to st louis to see them in may 2003. they were opening for a band called Stir and there were just maybe 10 of us going crazy by the stage (everyone else in the Pageant was there to see Stir). we got to meet them afterwards and they were cool as shit.

but, as time went on and show after show, it got too much to deal with the teenage/preteen crowd and once their major label deal went down, they're live shows kinda went the way of "let's not play anything except for what's on the record" and maybe Nerve Gas. also, they use to dress semi-normal, but once the cash flow came in, they played the "Who Can Look the Most Gay and Dramatic" game.

now this could be just the way it goes when small-band-makes-it, and Mat Devine has always been somewhat of a prima donna, but now I just catch them if they comes close (like, Lawrence or KC close) out of some misplaced sense of...something. besides, tickets are still only like $10. i no longer want to take pictures or meet them afterwards because they wouldn't be the same guys i hung out with before shows or talked to like friends at one time.

Kill Hannah really do epitomize the whole notion of sell-out, as billy corgan put it 'you get these fake fucking bands, playing fake fucking music'. i know kill hannah have been around for a while, but they seem to have recently seeped in the the UK rock 'mainstream' and, well just look at the picture, need i say anymore...
