Default Would you rather hear...

a 30 minute Gossamer jam or 5 or 6 other older songs? I would rather spend that time hearing songs like Quiet or Soma or anything from Mellon Collie.

Discuss.

They could play Gossamer once for 20 minutes, or play "17" 70 times...your pick.

Haha...gold.

I'd rather hear 4 or 5 short songs...Jellybelly/Quiet/Here is No Why/Wound, etc.

Gossamer is cool but what is with the 10 minutes of random noise in the middle? And I wish they'd bring back the ascending/descending riffs in the 3rd section too.

30 minutes of Gossamer is overkill, but it's something new we haven't heard yet. One song in their shows I wish they'd scrap is Bullet With Butterfly Wings, of course this won't happen because it's one of the "classics." Up until 2000 it was always good to hear 'em play it, but it's worn out in my mind.

Let's add a 20 minute Starla to the list of options.

Yeah, I'm curious/concerned about the residencies as well. It will be just my luck to get there on July 2 and have Billy do a 3 hour Starla jam and then pass out. XD Joking of course, but I'm REALLY intrigued. Given the options you provided, I'd prefer a shorter Gossamer and 2-3 MCIS songs.... best of both worlds, and all that.

One of the Asheville shows will be an hour of Tales of a Scorched Earth feedback jam, followed by a thirty minute Les Deux Machina "remix" (with Kenny Aronoff on drums), followed by an hour of "Spaced" with ebow solos.

start with Drown jam for a bit and then go into the feedback solo at the end, slow it down and then slowly go into Gossamer

I like the Gossamer thing now, its something different. But after the summer tour dates, they should drop it and play more different songs and almost a total different setlist for that matter.
