My parents gave up smoking for me. When the Drs told those geniuses that yes, them smoking a pack a day each, inside, with the windows closed, was in fact responsible for my inability to breathe normally, they gave up.
Except my mum, who later took an evening job stacking shelves at a local supermarket, and smoked heavily there, which I didn't find out until I was 16. She hid it pretty well.
I loved smoking. My dad raged at me when he realised i was smoking, as a teenager. I think all those years of not being able to smoke so that I could breathe, being thrown in his face because now I was smoking myself, was nearly too much for him.
