I don't think a lead character freaking out over seeing a guy with a turban walking up to an office would fly in 2018. Sure, it's hilarious and satire, but people don't have tolerance for even the slightest perceived racial insensitivity anymore, even when it is clearly a joke.... It wouldn't be aired on NBC prime-time anyways.
That's a stark change from 10 years ago.
