I don't remember much about Snail's politics. I remember him going off on somebody for saying Beastie Boys was one of the best hip-hop bands, because he took issue with somebody ignoring a lot of black artists to call a white group the best in the genre. Seemed like something Trots might say.
I don't remember him being an MRA, but I could definitely see it, it's common amongst people with Snail's personality. Trots had more progressive gender views, but he couldn't always separate them from his own experience, and would seem to fall into familiar talking points about "fake nerd/sports fan girls," women being shallow because they won't date him even though fat women can still get dates with thinner men, and certain posters only being tolerated because they are women. He kind of used the same rhetoric that he'd probably jump down somebody else's throat for using when it suited him. But overall, yeah, he was pretty pro-feminist.
