My thoughts on the new album. 1-5 stars (5 being best):
Overall, decent album. A lot better than MTAE. I hated almost every song on that album, and only barely tolerated "Run to Me". Ogilala gives me hope. Really liked Aeronaut - the strings brought me back to the Mellon Collie era. Also, some of the dreamy melodies in Spaniards really felt like old SP.
- Zowie - 3 stars
- Processional (Ft.*James*Iha) - 2.5 stars (sadly, since James Iha is the man, I expected more - wtf. This was really a 2 star song but I upped it by half a star, because fuck it, it's James Iha -
).
- The Spaniards - 3.5 stars
- Aeronaut - 4 stars (would have been 4.5 stars if not for the repetition of "lovers mourn for me" at the end of the song)
- The Long Goodbye - 3 stars
- Half-Life of an Autodidact - 2 stars
- Amarinthine - 1 stars (Billy, please don't ever write this kind of song again. awful.)
- Antietam - 1.5 stars ( ugh - similar reaction to Amarinthine).

- Shiloh - 2 stars
