Greece

I’ve had a few Greek ladies ask me if I’m Greek. Once, when I said no, a lady said “Are you sure?”.

In Naples I felt very much like a native village woman. Not sophisticated Italian. Lives on a vegetable farm with 13 children and makes offerings at the neighbourhood shrine to stop my husband from being a useless drunk, kind of Italian.
