It's funny, I feel a similar distance from music from my youth as well. Granted, the stuff I've rejected is mostly cruddy nu-metal that was never going to age well, but part of me wonders if it's a sign of my age or just depression. I can't get on board with the whole "membah when this was great and everything was awesome?"
I still engage with music from my younger days, but have virtually no nostalgia for this whole other huge chunk of my musical history I'm speaking of.
