So I downloaded the torrent file, and I downloaded the Max program (I'm on a mac) but now Max won't accept the torrent files to convert to wavs or mp3s or whatever. I feel like I missed step somewhere maybe.

you need to open the torrent in a bit torrent program--then you download the actual files.
