When I say $3k a month for rent I'm saying that if you're that wealthy you have no worries in DC. You can live in any neighborhood you want. I am not spending $3k per month! If you want something under $2k, though, it's a lot harder to be in the center of the city. And apartments at $2k or less are rented out very quickly.
