In the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency Mma Ramotswe drives a tiny white van. It keeps breaking down and Mr. JLB Matekoni (who keeps having to fix it) finally convinces her to get a new van. But it just isn't the same and she gets seriously depressed about losing the old white van. She hunts it down and finds it in a junkyard and buys it back.
