Rivers is a complete and total sell out. I normally don't even care about that kind of cred stuff. But he's gone out of his way for the past 19 years to sell out as hard as he possibly can. To me =w= mk1 with Matt Sharp on the first two albums, and =w= mk2 post green album are two entirely different bands with the former being far better.
Rivers has definitely done a lot of dumb shit, but at the end of the day, it all comes down to the content that's released and I think there's a really solid amount of quality music that they've released post-Pinkerton. Just Everything Will Be Alright In The End and the White album are miles ahead of anything Corgan's released in the past 20 years.
That's the upside of releasing so much music, odds are there's always gonna be something to appeal to each fan
