it seems like with every successive casualty in the music world, the compound mourning effect starts to tug on everybody, it's like a collective weight on everybody's shoulder - that realization that musicians are just people and so many of them are starting to die after we had grown used to thinking they would be here forever.

last night at the bar they played all cranberries for a few hours. personally i think something like that is reserved only for very celebrated artists, but listening to some Cranberries sucked me right back to being in high school, practicing 4-chord songs by them as my first attempts at guitarring. learning for the first time that a song can be 4 chords all the way through and still sound fresh and eventful, if you arrange it right - cranberries mastered that. it'll be alarming if it's suicide, honestly.
