i've been in litigation with my last employer for the past month or so...just kinda going back and forth between our lawyers.
it all started when i went to the free legal center at my school to find out what my options were and if i even had a case for wrongful termination. i did, i guess, since i was referred to a lawyer. he emailed me the other day to ask for specific dates I reported safety issues to mgmt (luckily i forwarded myself every email i sent, otherwise i would have zero proof of anything) and now they've asked for days to meet (and settle). i told my lawyer that the most important thing is they admit wrongdoing and fix some glaring safety issues- do something besides just give me money to go away. my lawyer requested 36k on my behalf; that's gravy, baby.
