yeah unwound is great. it really depends on what you like though. I'm into a lot of noise rock which is not entirely the same but close enough.
oxbow is a band you could loosely file under noise rock or post hardcore or whatever, but their last albums are somewhat mellower too. I really like the one from this year, the thin black duke:

Poino was definitely one of the more original / noise rock / hardcore-ish bands of the last few years. anyone remember Giddy Motors? This was Gavericks band after that. I think they were even better than Giddy Motors. Amazing all round, really

of course you could also check out the basics, like the Jesus lizard, Shellac. I prefer the weirder stuff usually.
