I sort of get this now as I have aged. I was really into 90s electronica and I have recently gotten into chill wave and chill house because it activates my pleasure centers. Though to be fair I have no idea the ages of the people who make it.

It's funny, I thought the older folks would rip on em for being a knock-off, but if you look at the comments on youtube, it's full of guys in their 50's and 60's fawning over them.
