That's how it sounds with the bias setting turned about half-way down, and the gain mostly up.
I also did played a bit with a NYC Big Muff going into an op-amp Big Muff:

Getting into SD-territory, and that's without doing any specific tone dialing in. I bet a lot of the album sound is stacked Muffs. Maybe an op-amp Muff into an op-amp Muff will be even closer-sounding to the SD stuff. |
