I think someone asked Jimmy about this and the answer is no. It was basically Billy and Jimmy talking about Adore and Jimmy was showing Billy things he would have changed. Billy at some point mentions something like "Jimmy and I went into the studio and worked on the Adore tracks" this then grew into a legend that Billy rerecorded Adore with Jimmy. Think about it, it makes no sense that they would go in and redo an album.
