I had an Avenged Sevenfold shirt in junior high. That was around the same time I was borrowing big sister's My Chemical Romance shirt and another shirt for a local metalcore band that I had never even listened to myself. It had a chick getting her eye gouged out on it, so it was sufficiently gory to remind my fellow middle-schoolers that I was pretty dark and edgy.
I probably would had dyed my hair black if it wasn't already.
