The media frenzy about the "Russian bots meddling in the election" is pretty funny, given that the indictments are essentially against Internet trolls, and there's no evidence that they had a major impact on the election.
Especially given that the U.S. government also
uses sock-puppet accounts to influence foreign opinion, and has done much worse to attempt to influence elections (such as funding terrorists to suppress the vote, funding candidates favorable to the United States, and straight up orchestrating coups when they don't like how elections turned out).
It is great seeing the egg on the Trump administration's face after they repeatedly insisted there was "no Russian meddling" (uh, how would they even know that without an investigation?), but this is still being blown up into something bigger than it is. People really think foreign states never have a dog in other countries' elections? The U.S. has already made it legal for domestic interests to pump billions into influencing elections, but it's such a shock when "THE RUSSSIANS!!!" do it instead of the Koch Brothers?
