It really is. I used to like him, but I read the letter shortly after he posted it, and I could never quite look at him the same way again. I'd probably see him live now after all this time, but I don't think I'd have any interest in saying hi.
For what it's worth, I think all the things he said about Billy over the years were quite tame and likely deserved. It was the misogyny of the letter that got to me.
