most of the time when that happens they're trying to find the audience. when it doesn't do well on a given night, they move it trying to net a bigger viewing. it's a gamble though. because if you leave the show where it is, it could die. most of the time, they don't want to risk leaving it and hoping people will trickle in. on the other hand, the fans may get confused as to when it airs and miss it.
they just had the upfronts here, which is where the networks debut new shows for the fall to advertisers to get their money. over $9 billion worth in ads. unfortunately, the business comes first. when they take a show off the schedule for awhile, it's because they have to insert a proven show to give the advertisers their money's worth.
as a result - this good show died.
