Demographics (as of 2006)

As of: 1 July 2006[3]
  • Total Population: 9,948,081, a 4.4% increase between 2000 and 2005, or about 27% of California's population.
Non Hispanic Persons: 52.7%
  • White (Non-Hispanic/Non-Latino): 29.2%
  • Black: 9.6%
  • Asian: 13.1%
  • Other: 0.90%
Hispanic or Latino: 47.3%

Under 50%, but still by FAR the largest demographic.
whatever. you can point to the fact that within a very small slice of the country, certain marginalized groups are the majority. but they're still marginalized. and in the big picture they're still the minority.
