Hmm post metal makes some sense i think. I mean genre names can be annoying and straight up incorrect but as i associate post rock with long-winded and reverby (BORING) guitar melodies you could just add a couple metal riffs to that and call it post-metal.
Russian Circles and Pelican are examples (note: i really like the first 2 Pelican records)
