things to remember: suffixes
-ous means "full of, or possessing"
-mony refers to "status/role or quality"
suffixes are endings of words and they modify the part of the speech. for instance, the word vigor is a noun because it's thing but if you add -ous, the word is an adjective rather an a noun so the meaning has changed, you see. before it was a thing (noun) but now it's not. but all words ending in -ous do not follow this rule like in words enormous and fabulous. i'm not trying to be pedantic, but i can't help it.
