selling "limited edition vinyl records" through the tea shop is a little trick to make it work.
aegea (limited, numbered, signed, coloured vinyl) did very well. and i guess zuzu's made a lot of money on those green vinyl monuments records too.
Problem is, the novelty of it has worn off. AEGEA worked because it was a surprise release and no one knew what to expect from the sound. The Monuments to an Elegy colored vinyl worked because he rode the (very minimal) excitement surrounding that album, and had never really sold autographed stuff before.

On the other hand, all the crap he's released since then has gone belly up. Those "super special" screen grabs from Vieuphoria never sold out, and it looks like the vinyl he just posted are not flying off the shelves. In terms of Siddhartha, he's high if he thinks this will sell. As other posters pointed out, a five record set will cost a pretty penny, and even the most ardent Corgan supporters admitted the Siddhartha event was a pretty big failure. At worse, it was farcical Spinal Tap level parody. At best, it was a noble but failed experiment.
