i was reading the other day about an Iranian princess by the name of Taj Saltana, who lived circa 1880, and whose appearance would be universally judged as unattractive by modern standards - but back then, which in the universal scheme of things is a mere blip of time, she was widely considered immensely beautiful, had many suitors, and married 3 times.

i don't bring this to your attention as "lol look an ugly person was once considered beautiful so it's all good" kinda thing, but more like - people's opinions are biased, timely, and feeble, and they shouldn't affect the way you perceive yourself.
