The millionaires' haven of Llandudno, in Cape Town, has been rocked by the mysterious death of a 29-year-old Mouille Point man found hanging naked from a tree, surrounded by pornographic magazines.

The body of Richard Alexander Boyle was found by schoolboys on November 26.

Police have opened a murder docket, but another possibility is that it could have been a kinky sex game gone wrong - similar to the one that, in 1997, claimed the life of Australian rock singer Michael Hutchence of the band INXS, who was found naked and hanged in his hotel room.

Boyle was found days after the fifth anniversary of the Hutchence death which was reported as being the consequence of a game of auto-erotic asphyxiation or "scarfing", the act of blocking one's air supply for heightened sexual gratification. - Own Correspondent

from what I remember hearing about that, they said he was quoted as saying "I am going to pull a Kurt" just a few days before his death

so I just assumed it was a plain and simple suicide

It was well reported at the time of his death - perhaps your news agencies didn't want to report that part of it.
