my grandmother was an alcoholic :erm for a very short period. it was mostly due to depression but it was probably enhanced by the fact that she was jewish and she had that enzyme thing going on that made alcohol affect her so strong or something. my mom has it really bad too except she can't drink a glass of wine without feeling sick so it works opposite for her and so do i. uhhh.
