so i got assaulted while i was reffing today
 

a team from moreno valley (mostly black) vs. a team from tesoro (mostly white)

the black team lost. by 2 in OT.

the assistant coach proceeded to call me a "motherfucking cracker. you fucking bitch"

the head coach came up, bumped me and started yelling how i was a racist bitch.

5 or 6 more large black men came out of the stands and rushed the court yelling.

it was like a mini pistons/pacers thing.

the assistant coach was being held back by 4 people.

these kids were 3rd and 4th grade. something is wrong w/ society.

i think not. to make things worse the other ref was a black guy and they didnt seem to mind him. i hate when people bring race into things when you need an excuse

it helps if you call them for travelling and not "hooting and hollering"

Did you ref the game fairly? Or did the guy have a reason to come after you?

that's cool. when i was 7 my soccer coach who was black yelled at the ref too. that nigga was HOT! i mean hot as in mad.

i'm insulted by that question.

this was my email to the head of referees:

the game was moreno valley vs. tesoro, 3RD AND 4TH GRADE, division 3.
there was a scorekeeper, 1 assistant coach and a head coach on the
bench for moreno valley.

they were rather loud much of the day but i felt we kept them in live
for the most part. the fans were not too bad other than yelling a few
things here and there as well as being quite loud. the game went into
OT and before the OT started the scorekeep was complaining to my
partner and i hear him point to me and say "that fucking cracker is
screwing us. that fucking bitch." excuse my language but those were
his exact words. i immediately blue carded him and told him to sit
down. we shot the foul shots and went to OT.

they were ok for much of OT. after the game ended, they lost by 2
points. The scorekeeper was physically being held back from coming
after me while screaming "that fucking bitch, that fucking bitch." i
told him to get out of the gym otherwise i was going to call the
police. this is when the head coach explodes and comes running after
me and gets into my face. i walk backwards and he continues towards
me. i put my hand out to keep him away from me and he throws it down
and bumps me. If i am not mistaken bumping a referee is grounds for
permanent expulsion from NJB. i work my way out of the corner he
backed me into and walk over by the tesoro coach. i proceeded to just
hang out by tesoro until they exited the gym. also, there were moreno
valley fans coming up yelling profanity and many other racial slurs
towards me.

something needs to be done about this. i talked to tyler when he got
there and he said there was a knife pulled on him last week. this is
insane, it's youth basketball! i am very close to not reffing NJB
anymore because of how bad it's gotten in recent years.

this head coach as well as scorekeeper should be banished from the
league for their actions. the other coaches, my partner and the 2
guys who ran the clock and the book can back me up on all i have said.

in addition they also threatened the 2 clock guys and physically tried
to attack one of them also. there is no room for this in NJB. i would
love to talk to dennis murphy about this as i think something needs to
be done about this situation and the parties involved. it should not
just be overlooked.

Sorry, that came out a little wrong. What I mean is, looking back, was there anything that could have been misconstrued by the other team's coach? The game was close so even something minute could have made him blame you. I know when I played sports, my coaches would go insane over stupid stuff sometimes if the game was close.

honestly, no. if anything, i was a bit intimidated by the large black men who were yelling at me so i may have even given them a few calls.

On the bus on the way over, the white kids were calling the black kids nigger and the black kids were calling the white kids honkeys.

Adam had enough of this so he asked the bus driver to pull over

"Look everyone, I'm tired of this shit. Nigger, honkey, cracker, blackie. Enough already. Everybody is green. There are no other colors, everyone on this bus is green."

The kids calmed down and nodded their heads

i'm quite familiar with abusing officials. :D i got a game misconduct once for winking and blowing a kiss at a ref. i got a game misconduct for attempting to flip the puck to a linesman and hitting him in the shins, :D. i got a ten game suspension when i was little for spearing a female linesmen in the side, too. :erm

I once got penalized in field hockey for sticking my tongue out and grabbing my boob at one of the umpires after she made some bad call. I don't even remember what for. I forget sometimes how into it I was, I miss team sports :(

i got tossed in baseball once when i ran over the catcher because he was up the line then he landed on me and hit him in the face mask

Since when can't you plow over a catcher in the baseline?

if he has the ball you cant. not even in college. this was high school. i mostly got tossed for the mini thing after though.

One time I told a ref that he was a fucking idiot and when he told me to 'JUST PLAY THE GAME!!' I told him that was impossible because he didn't know what the fuck he was doing. He gave me a red card. He was an idiot and I hate him.

Another time, I headed the ball to my keeper and the ref called me for.....something. I don't even know. He had his back to me, and I ran at him.....angrily. I wanted to beat the shit out of him. But someone stopped me or something, and he never even saw me do it.

Generally, I am very respectful of refs. even when they suck balls, which is quite often. I always figure that the more you bitch, the more they'll try and fuck you over.

Dude, you never touch the ref. Ever. Even if they suck donkey balls.

A similar story, sort of

Back in the day we had this rival team that was full of Mexicans (since then we've sort of joined forces, but back then we HATED each other)....and we always had really hard-fought, close games. But for some reason, on this particular night, we played bad, and we were getting our asses kicked. We started maybe taking some cheap shots, but the ref had it under control, and we didn't do anything too terrible. but then they started like.....attacking us. They got cards handed out left and right....and their coaches and fans came running onto the field, and the ref just basically said 'fuck this shit,' called the game, and got himself the hell out of there.

It went in as a forfeit by them. it was sweet.

Then in our last game ever as that team, we beat them 2-0 on two penalty kicks that I set up. totally irrelevant but it's a neat story. no?
