not knowing reggae was a form of music...
is it funny/weird to anyone else that this guy at work, 19 years old, had NEVER heard of reggae and had no clue who bob marley was?
say what you want about the aforementioned artist and/or genre, but that's just something that's, i dunno, known. my brain hurts. |

i worked at a record store for 5 years. in my final year there they stopped hiring people who knew music well, and just hired anybody in high school it seemed like. (new mgmnt thought the younger the employee, the more impressionable they were. they said this.) anyways, i was at the work station one day with this one 17 year old girl we had hired recently, when a 30ish man walked up and asked "where is the led zeppelin?" she stared at hime blankly and waked up to the computer and asked him "i don't know. how do you spell his last name?" i wanted to cry. then i showed the guy where the zep was and wanted to cry some more. i think he did too. |

when tinnitus, sleep deprevation and depression turned my brain into a worthless spungelike mound of flesh i started to appriciate raggae. now that i'm feeling better again, i'm bored to death with it.
