I have just been without electricity for over 24hrs . . .
 

we just got it back. but fuck. it was fucking freezing. i thought surely i was going to die in my sleep last night.

there are currently over a million people in north carolina without power. worst power outage ever(in the state), if im not mistaken.

im not sure if being without power for just over 24hrs in the freezing cold is worse than being without it for 5 days in the heat after hurricane fran . . . either way, electricity is a veryvery nice thing.

hahaha. okay not 24hrs. i dont even know what i was thinking. i guess i just had that in my head for whatever reason. it hasnt been 24hrs at all. but yeah. its been more like 17-18.

so yeah. big oops on my part.

damn our neighborhood looks like a tornado hit and last night i thought the roof was gonna cave in cause big ass branches kept falling. im talking the tree-size branches. theyre massive and scary.

i cant wait to take a hot shower.

Is it just big wind storms that's doing all of that? No electricity sucks big time. Have you ever done one of those science experiments where you pedal a bike to light a lightbulb? You have to pedal at full speed just to get it dimly lit.

My friend got her electricity shut off. But that's from not paying the bill.

It's kinda cool when the power is out... especially when it starts getting cold... I have never gone 18 hours though... one time it was -25 and it was out for about 5 hours. I was about to kick into survival mode and stuff, but then it came back on.
