rosencrantz and guildenstern are suggesting to hamlet that maybe he is upset because of thwarted ambition (hamlet had just announced that to him, denmark is a prison. rosencrantz and guildenstern say his ambition makes it so; ie, he wishes he were king or whatever). hamlet then counters with that remarkable line that is impossible to really...analyze i guess. *sigh*

i was watching rosencrantz and guildenstern are dead (sort of, more or less. i was trying to get mys ister to watch it and it didn't work)

the hamlet in that movie delivered that line wonderfully. i forget how branagh delivered it. *sigh*
