What good movies have you seen in theaters recently?

I'm not really up on movies...but with my recent search to find a movie to see, I've noticed that everything out right now sucks.

I already saw Garden State, and I loved that...and I do want to see Hero sometime, but it's not in any of the theaters I want to go to =\

So anyhow, is there anything good out there right now?? At all?? Any suggestions??

If not, just give me good movies to rent maybe. =\

i'd love to help, but we're months behind i think.

but if it's still running go see man on fire with denzel washington. that was quite a good movie

sky captain was okay. not mind blowing or anything but the cinematography was really awesome and you get to look at jude law for 2 hours.

I know you said "good movies" but the only thing I've seen recently is "The Forgotten" and it was okay I guess, nothing special.. the second half especially blew.

CherubDaydream 10-08-2004 10:01 AM

Well I saw "The Village". It's alright but nothing special to waste your money for. I thought it would be better...

mewl 10-08-2004 10:03 AM

the last movie i saw was harry potter.

the chicago international film festival is on now. i don't know if that's your type of thing, but i've been impressed the past few years.

but knowing your company i'd give that one a NO.

so, um, no i don't know any movies.

AndySlash 10-08-2004 10:42 AM

If you haven't seen Napoleon Dynamite yet, GO SEE THAT.

I saw Garden State, too, and I loved it.

Sky Captain was the other recent one and, though it's nice to look at, it wasn't that good.

the forgotten, not so much. it wasn't bad, but it didn't do anything for me.

that movie came out on DVD like 2/3 weeks ago :erm

Last movie I saw was Resident Evil Apocalypse.
I thought it was pretty fucking good. Considering I didn't play barely anything from the games, and only saw like 25 mins of the first movie.

Isle 10-08-2004 11:09 AM

last film i saw was The People Under The Stairs on tv. really, really good horror/thriller movie. go rent that if you can find it, it's about 15 years old.

I saw The World According to Bush and it's a good documentary. It won't be distributed in the U.S.

mhm, it's somewhat strange. i know we are a bit behind on movies in theatres, but since the studios put out the dvd's like weeks after the movie hit the big screens this seems to happen really often lately.

still a great movie though
