I wrote my first poem ever
 

Why Did God Make Me a Lizard (tentative title)

There's a lizard on the ledge
of a window on the second floor of the house.
It's raining outside,
but next to the house he keeps dry.
He looks inside the window and sees a young boy
eating ice cream and watching television.
It's the Weather Channel, the meteorologist says it's raining out.
The lizard leaps from the ledge in a successful attempt at suicide.

For Macroeconomics.. one of our requirements was to write a letter of any topic to any public official. I wrote one to the Superintendent of schools. We had to mail one letter and give the other to the professor. My professor suggested I send mine to the editor of the newspaper. Well, I did and my letter was published today. I don't know why I'm posting this here. I guess I'm just proud of it. But anyway. :

It's when I'm weary of considerations,
And life is too much like a pathless wood
Where your face burns and tickles with the cobwebs
Broken across it, and one eye is weeping
From a twig's having lashed across it open.
I'd like to get away from earth awhile
And then come back to it and begin over.
May no fate willfully misunderstand me
And half grant what I wish and snatch me away
Not to return. Earth's the right place for love:
I don't know where it's likely to go better.
I'd like to go by climbing a birch tree
And climb black branches up a snow-white trunk
Toward heaven, till the tree could bear no more,
But dipped its top and set me down again.
That would be good both going and coming back.
