question..

At this point it's going to be very difficult to pass a course I'm taking...what happens if i drop the class? Does my GPA go down? i'm not paying for school since i'm applicable for full aid, so money isn't really a problem.

help?

at my school you get a W(late withdrawl) on your record. the only way it ever effects (affects/ whatever) you is if you want to get into grad school having a bunch of them is a bad thing.

i think other school has different systems for that though.

At my school, you got a 'W' if you dropped before the final drop date (which was somewhere around midterms) and a 'WF' if dropped after the final drop date. Call your school's registrar's office and ask.

I just heard from a chick down the hall that you are allowed to drop a course until the cut off date to do so.

I just called admissions and records, and they told me the date is the 18th. WOO!

thank you so much ammy and bluestar. i'm not awake yet and you got my mind running. http://www.netphoria.org/wwwboard/smile.gif

you're such a peach.

not really. i'd be taking it next semester. if i weren't missing tomorrows class, i wouldn't drop. to me some things are more important than others.

You may want to check on your financial aid before you drop the class.

To keep mine.. I have to maintain a 3.0GPA and take atleast 6 credit hours per semester. If I were to drop one of my classes, I would have to pay the fees for the class.

twice 10-02-2002 06:42 PM

i'm taking 17 hours, and minimum is 12 here. i'd be down to 14.

i have a scholarship i need to keep my g.p.a. up for, so it would be more beneficial for me to drop rather than have it bring down the g.p.a.

thanks for pointing that out though.
