2 down, 4 to go (ARG the mormon religion)

So i was at work last night, and the mother of one of my 5 closest friends in high school came in. I hadn't talked to this friend in about 9 months because after she converted to Mormonism (which seemed totally random since no one in her family was particularly religoius) she kind of shut off contact with me. I don't know if she just didn't LIKE me or if i'm aheathen now or something but we didn't talk for about 9 months. SO her mom came in and I said Hi HOw's Alia? And she wasl ike "Oh she got married in June and had a big ol wedding!" I'm like omg. OMG. and she quit school now. she's just gonna be one of those mormon baby factories... i'm so sad. my second friend to get married and quit school since high school. Life's a bummer, baby.

The thing is, my mother would be very unhappy about the mess and all since after you die, you drop a load into your pants. My pants would be heavily soiled and some might leak out of my pants and onto the floor, thus creating a terrible mess and mother might not have me buried in the current ce****ry of my choice, which is in Antartica. She's been saving her entire life for me to be buried out there because she knows of my undying love for penguins.

So in other words, be nice to me because I'M ABOUT TO BREAK and I don't want to do anything rash.

i will always love her, but i'm going to explain myself a bit further before i get extremely frustrated and delete teh topic.

their religion just embodies things that don't sit well with me. and I know a LOT about their religion. it has a lot of positives, but the simple fact that they encourage you to have as many children as possible in your situation and encourage traditional roles is enough to make me wonder why anyone, females in particular, would CHOOSE that lifestyle. Of course she always wanted to have kids someday but to just drop school after 3 years of work because you're a wife now is just something that bugs the hell out of me.

and i don't think i'm a christian scientist anymore.

This has always been a major point of contention on Netphoria, but you are in no way pressured to have as many children as you can. This isn't taught, preached, or really even encouraged.

Christian Sciences is a corporation, just like Mormonism.

Ok but don't they believe that there are lots of people waiting to be born intot his earth, and that everytime you have a child it's their chance. and what better place to bring it into than in a Mormon family?

It's not necessarily bigoted to hate Mormons.

I hate them as a Christian because they distort the Bible, aka the true word of God.

I could go on for pages about what makes the LDS church a cult, and how the Bible specifically warns against believing in a prophet like Joeseph Smith who comes along saying that an angel told him that the Bible is not the true word of God.

Of course hating Mormons does make me a complete hypocrite because God says to love everyone.

Hypocrite - yes.

Bigot - no.

When I was growing up our closest family friends were Mormon. They did have quite a few kids (well, five eventually, at the time they only had two, the oldest of whom was my age), and he worked and she didn't, but other than that there was nothing really traditional about them at all. I mean, I didn't even know that they were Mormon until I was in junior high, because it never came up. And the mother didn't play a traditional female role in any sense of the word other than the fact that she stayed home.

I don't talk to them anymore, don't really get along with them, and don't like them, but that has nothing to do with the fact that they're Mormon. It has to do with the fact that they're kind of twisted as people. But it's not like they're trapped. They're perfectly happy the way they are. And to a certain extent, you have to accept that. If you're mad at your friend for making the decision she did and for cutting off communication with you, go ahead and be mad at her specifically, but don't bash an entire community of people.
