My teacher was telling our class that he has bands request that he produce a record that sounds similar to the Smashing Pumpkins but when they inform him that they have a budget of $300 bucks he tells them "I can probably get you Gish at best, but you're not getting anything better than that for $300 bucks."

Nick Drake (talked about the intimate sound of nick drake vs. jeff buckley's sound)
311 (he played Amber which I like)

Oh but we ended up making fun of him because two weekends ago he did the sound for the wedding of Jessica Simpson and one of the guy from 98 degrees.
So I was like "there goes your indie cred." :D
