Why the hell do schools make SWEATERS a mandatory part of a uniform???

I DON'T FUCKING GET IT.

It's 80 degrees through the entire school (while it's 50 outside...), and I have to where a SWEATER. Goddamn. It pisses me off.

What the hell is wrong with a shirt and tie?? huh??

Yeah...most parents do have at least a little control over their 15-year-old children.

...

Especially your dad...I mean, he went so far as to stick his cock up your ass.

in high school, i not only had a sweater, but a long-sleeve oxford shirt AND a tie as part of the uniform.

man, did that suck come june.

peabody 11-09-2002 03:05 AM

that sucks.

our dress code is just collared shirt, tucked in, with a belt, and pants and stuff.

and no sandals!

yeah.

Johnny Zoloft 11-09-2002 04:10 AM

jesus.

i go to an arts school, so there's absolutely no uniform. although i did get work detail one time for wearing a "too drunk to fuck" t-shirt...but i can understand why that'd be a problem.

lily1only 11-09-2002 11:33 AM

I've got all of that except the tie.

But from August-October and April something-June we get to wear just a short-sleeved collared shirts and pants. You can wear shorts, but the restrictions on them are so retarded that you probably wouldn't even be able to find a pair that fit the requirements.

Ihaman 11-09-2002 12:00 PM

school sure is bieng run by republicans these days.

that sucks.

I think getting an actual quality education is worth the trade off of having to wear a uniform.

that was mine. but the only color pants we could wear are blue or black. shirts could be any color as it wasn't red or blue (they didn't want gang members at the school  ). if you wore black pants you couldn't wear a black shirts (no goths!). no coats in classes. if you had a shirt on that didn't require a belt (a sweater) and if you were a girl you had to be able to lift you arms up over your head and your tummy could not show. skirts had to be below the knee, your skirt at it's shortest could be 2" above the knee. also you couldn't mark on your backpack or put anything on it of any kind. that was public school right there. getting dressed for school use to really suck.

Yeah. I'm not too fond of the authoritarian nature of public schools these days--I think it stifles way too many kids' creativity, and more importantly, I think it breaks their spirits--but if we're gonna tell kids what to do anyway we might as well simplify the issue and give them uniforms, so long as they're simple and flexible enough that people of all socio-economic **********s can afford them.
