Oh, the Irony

My friend left his tom waits Frank's Wild Years CD in my car, and on the way home at 1:30 in the morning after a really naughty evening i listened to the song that has a line about how we're bad during the day but how we're innocent when we dream. I was thinking "Hmm. that's good, kind of poignant, and probably true."

But my dream! Oh my God. I dreamed I was trying to seduce this guy, Michael, who is in my class. he's older, pretty attractive, very intelligent, but in the dream he was married. and right in front of his wife i was being nice to her but iw as trying to convince him to sleep wiht me. yeah. innocent in my dreams.

bwahaha. y'know... dreams are things that reside in your brain. you know you want too... heh heh heh...

severin 09-30-2002 05:01 PM

thinking of freud, you probably just like his cat or something....

FearFactory 09-30-2002 06:22 PM

I think the dream just means that you want to put on a strap-on and pound his puckered pinkie until it bleeds.

wow that's sexy.

*gets warm*

You're still innocent, per se, because you didn't actually do any of that. So I am unaware of the irony.

Sometimes I think I'd be better off dead. No, wait, not me, you.

In her defense, she's not aware of much.

Good God, man, when will you get a life and stop criticizing mine? I haven't seen you in like 3 years and here you are talking shit about me on a messageboard like you know me or something.

However, Brendan, innocence implies thought, too, doesn't it? and since dreams so often represent the subconscious, that would mean that I think I am capable of attempting to seduce someone i know is married. all in thought of course, but still. that's not so innocent.

#1 - stuff it, skank

#2 - You're comparing real life to the dream world. If you still fail to understand this, perhaps you can choke on your brother's cock.

eh, if you're talking from a psychologist's perspective that follow's Freud's line of reasoning, (which is still the contemporary line of reasoning, if i remember my psychology 120 class correctly) then the dream-world is supposed to represent your subconscious thought and capability.

psych-junkies, please feel free to correct me. More logic from a gas station attendant not required at this point.

Yeah, I forgot that the true intellectual working class hawk swedish-brand furniture while attending party colleges.

You're still not understanding that there is still no connection between capability and actually doing something until you have done it. Maybe another go-round with some herpes-infested Australian will spark some of those few remaining brain cells into action.

nevertheless, knowing one has the capability of doing something like that is still eye-opening enough. Plus there are a lot of religions that believe that if you have lusted or thought about crimes in your heart then its' the same as committing them. I think Jesus said that? But i know orthodox Jews believe that. Or maybe Dr. Laura's just full of shit. Well that's just a given... anyway.. i know it's not the same it's just a point or osmething.

just for the record, i am ikea-free. and i escaped relatively unscathed... since i don'ta ctually have an apartment or anything TO furnish i wasn't tempted to buy. cept the harmonica. but that was only like $3 and for entertainment purposes.

It's not even really capability, it's just dreaming about it, which as far as I know is not a sin in religions around the world. The only thing that I've been told is a sin is when you're conscious and think about it, and that's only from Susan's psycho Ultra-Christian aunt.

If you're getting your opinions from dr. laura, I can see why you're all twisted around.
