no it isn't. windows+m only applies to the current application, while windows+d minimizes all apps. windows+d also acts as a toggle

alt tab is much better because you can open something else that's legit and switch it to that- you press windows key and D and then you still have to go uh uh yea im just clicking on this on my empty desk top
