That's disgusting and it angers me, but the general impression i got from that article was that the parents honestly didn't understand. and considering the step mother wrote in, and could predict that they didn't know how to care for him..... in cases of that high of stupidity i don't know if they can honestly be proven 100% guilty. like retarded people standing trial
