question about netiquette
 

i know that if you wanna take pics from another site, you email them and get the ok...or is this always necessary////or is it just ok to take the pic and when you put it on your own site to make a little note of where it came from.
and if thats the case does it have to be next to the pic, or can there just be a general area where the credits and thank-yous are done?????

Okay. Generally I think it's accepted if at the very bottom of the page you mention where the picture is from. It would be nice to email the people & ask first ,but I don't think anyone ever does. At least I never do/did. Because if you did do that then everyone here who steals images from Something Awful would have to email them first & bat their eyelashes at them.

So.. email no ,mention at the bottom of the page where it came from ... yes.

I do it in my 'zine ,too ... I don't know why.
It just started happening.

But anything that's ever been cool never had a real purpose... take dada for example!
