good ones, preferably. I'm looking for something more along the lines of classic literature, but not quite.

A Door Near Here..By Katherine..something or other..Graham I think it was..but yea..very depressing book..but I give it three thumbs up..

Looks like that, doesn't it. Actually, everything except Catch-22, 1984 and Small Gods I had to read for college classes. I read The Sound and the Fury and Animal Farm in high school, and then again in college.

Contemporary literature pisses me off. It's not very good. In fact, it's rather threadbare. Besides, one shouldn't throw aside books like the ones I mentioned just because they weren't written in the last ten years.
